The turning point
Everything Changed at Once
For 30 years I have built a career in Food Safety and Quality leadership — the kind of work that never sleeps, where the stakes are high and the margin for error is zero. I have led global teams, managed crises, driven strategy across complex organizations. I am good at it. I have given it everything.
At the same time, I was raising three children — mostly on my own. Sixteen years of school pickups and late nights and figuring it out without a partner to lean on. I did not have time to fall apart, so I did not. I just kept going.
Then, almost without warning, everything shifted at the same time. My body started changing in ways I did not recognize. My children started stepping into their own lives. My career, my relationships, my sense of who I was — all of it felt like it was transitioning all at once. I remember thinking: I have spent my whole life being strong for everyone else. Who is being strong for me?
So I decided to take control of my life again — starting with myself. I walked into a Zumba class, and something shifted. The music, the movement, the rhythm of my Latin roots — it woke something up in me that had been quiet for a very long time. I felt like myself again. So I became an instructor. Not because I had it all figured out, but because I wanted to stay in that feeling and share it with other women who needed it as much as I did.
Now, my purpose is to build a community — a place for women who are carrying a lot, navigating change, and ready to finally put themselves back on top of the priority list.
