Asheville, NC: The Perfect Long Weekend for Women 40+

Asheville, NC: The Perfect Long Weekend for Women 40+

Art, mountains, excellent food, and a genuinely welcoming energy. Asheville keeps delivering.

Asheville has been on best-of lists for years, and it keeps earning its place. The combination of Blue Ridge Mountain scenery, a thriving arts scene, exceptional food and drink, and a culture that is genuinely welcoming to women traveling alone or in groups makes it one of the most reliably satisfying domestic destinations I know.

The food scene is genuinely excellent. Cúrate, Chai Pani, and Bouchon are all worth reservations. The Saturday farmers market at the Western North Carolina Farmers Market is one of the best in the South.

The River Arts District is a working artist community with over 200 studios open to visitors. The experience of watching someone make something beautiful is one of the best things Asheville offers.

Three days is the right amount of time. Arrive Thursday evening, leave Sunday afternoon. You will leave wanting to come back, which is exactly the right feeling.
